What can dealers do?
- Continue your strong marketing and advertising presence. According to the Sincro Dealer Trend Report, a significant number of dealers plan to increase digital marketing budgets in 2021, despite forecasting flat sales. The top areas of growth will be digital advertising (search and display), social media, and SEO. Continue to invest in SEO and advertising to ensure your business is visible during shoppers’ digital journeys.
- Optimize Google My Business (GMB) listings. Have three or more GMB listings, i.e., Sales, Service, and Parts. Include quality profile and inventory images and use the correct category name for each listing. Use impactful business descriptions with product listings in your GMB listing. - Make online shopping easy. Examine your website through a shopper’s lens on both mobile and desktop devices to identify opportunities to improve the experience. Make the shopping experience easy:
- Faster is better. Monitor your website speed regularly and improve the speed of your site. Discuss with your website provider about ideas to improve your speed, such as using lower resolution assets and images, more condensed SEO verbiage, and removing old third-party code.
- Think mobile-first. Over half of traffic to dealership websites is on a mobile device. Ensure your website is simple and easy to use on mobile devices. If your website is easy to navigate on mobile, the likelihood is that it will also be easy on a desktop device.
- Be helpful. Provide tools to your shoppers to help them gather information and build trust with your business–tools like trade-ins, finance, and digital retailing tools. Promote the user benefits of these tools, such as speed, accurate payments, time-savings, remote connection, and 100% online purchase. Incorporate video to interact with your shoppers, whether on Facebook, YouTube, or in one-to-one communications.
